About Aflore

We believe that literature is something to be reimagined, translated, and shared. Founded in December 2024, we set out with a clear purpose: to bring memorable publishing projects to life by bridging the gap between textual preservation and digital curation.

While we are continuously expanding, our ultimate destination remains clear. Our mission is to evolve into a fully sustainable, independent publishing house that crafts limited physical print editions, whilst currently providing our global community with a safe, accessible digital space to explore curated literary works in both English and Spanish.

What does Aflore mean?

The name embodies our most inherent wish: que aflore, to let it sprout… to allow imagination to surface and flourish.

Our Digital Ecosystem

Aflore is more than a publishing service; it is a growing digital archive and educational environment. Inside our platform, you will find:

  • The Digital Library: A curated collection of clean-text, public-domain editions of both English and Spanish literature, formatted for an immersive reading experience online.
  • Diccionario XIX: An entry-by-entry digital transcription project reviving a rare 19th-century dictionary of literature, sciences, and arts in Spanish.
  • Learn Peruvian Spanish: A specialised linguistic and cultural hub designed to help language learners comprehend Peruvian Spanish.
  • The Literary Blog: A bilingual space featuring independent posts, essays, and reflections on books, language, and the publishing journey.
  • The Online Shop: Our digital storefront where readers can purchase premium, beautifully formatted eBook editions of our curated titles.
  • Art and Crafts Portfolio: A static digital archive tracking our foundational roots in raw craftsmanship.

What We Do Today

We actively support independent authors and creators on their path to global self-publishing. Through our Publishing Services, we offer professional:

  • Orthographic, grammatical, and stylistic proofreading.
  • Bespoke interior layout design and typography formatting.
  • Industry-standard digital file preparation (print-ready PDFs and validated ePub files) optimised for global platforms like Amazon KDP and Draft2Digital.

Our Values and Future Dream

  • Sustainability: Our journey started with a mould, a deckle, and recycled household bond paper. Though we are currently digital-first, that mindful, conscious approach to resource conservation guides our entire design philosophy.
  • Social Responsibility: We work alongside a trusted network of freelance proofreaders, designers, and illustrators, ensuring fair industry standards by proudly recognising and crediting their creative contributions inside every final publication.
  • The Dream: We dream of Aflore becoming a recognised national and international benchmark for independent literary publishing and, eventually, custom artisanal print-on-demand bookbinding.
